Huzaima — Textile Designer

Huzaima · Textile Designer · Lahore

I am a passionate and meticulous textile design student at Beaconhouse National University, Lahore, actively seeking an internship to gain hands-on experience in the textile and fashion industry. Backed by a solid academic background and a keen eye for design and innovation, I aim to expand my skill set, engage in creative problem-solving, and add value to a forward-thinking and collaborative organisation.

My practice sits at the crossroads of material culture, weaving craft, and contemporary research. Trained in both hand-loom techniques and CAD-assisted design, I move fluidly between analogue and digital methods — letting the tension between the two define the work.

For me, cloth is never just a surface — it is a record. Every structure carries the decisions, the patience and the hours of the hands that made it, long after the maker has moved on. I am drawn to weaving in particular for this permanence: once a thread is set into the warp, it stays, an honest trace of time spent that cannot be painted over or undone.

This way of thinking — about what textiles hold onto, and what they are allowed to forget — became the foundation of my final thesis collection, an exploration of memory, inheritance and craft carried across generations.
